Smart Trip card use on VRE

It would be nice if you could use your Smart Trip Card on the VRE. All the Bus systems and the Metro Rail accept this card and I think it would even be a good marketing idea for the VRE.As the VRE trains head toward DC,they stop at Metro Stations and other Bus transfer points.The easier you make it for people to use mass/public transportation,the more likely they will.I remember being on the very first VRE from Manassas ...more »

Circumferential Mass Transit

Given the tremendous commuter flows across the Potomac River bridges, put in mass transit lines. The Wilson Bridge has dedicated lanes. There, start by running a rush-hour express bus between Huntington and Suitland, with a possible extension to Springfield. This would be similar to the N11/N13 that died due to lack of publicity. Planners have mixed ideas on Rt 1 - some want it to be a major commuter corridor, others want it to become a mixed-use walkable community.
